Laketown is part of the United Quadtowns Council. It is mainly residential, but houses the few commercial plots within the council. It is known for being the "dodgy" suburb in Peteyville. Half of the suburb is administered by Singleton LDC and the other half by Banlieu LDC.
The highway that links Laketown to the rest of the city is the Burnett Highway (Q1). It is serviced by a rail station. Singleton is northeast of the suburb, whilst the other 3 quad towns are to the west.
Originally Laketown was a promising suburb as part of a new direction that was taken with the town. This quickly turned sour meaning the suburb became the suburb with the bad reputation.
